Lake Harmony is not a restaurant town and we would rather say that than send you somewhere fancy that does not exist. What it has is a handful of solid, friendly places where the food is good, the portions are big and nobody minds if you arrive straight off the slopes. Shenanigans is the one most of our guests end up at, usually more than once.
It is an Irish pub and family restaurant on the lake, with a big menu of burgers, wings, sandwiches, pizza and a few more substantial dinners, plus a decent kids’ menu. The burgers are the thing to order. There is a full bar, a long list of beer and a fireplace for winter. In summer the deck looks over the water and it is a good place to sit with a drink at the end of a lake day.
It is casual, noisy in the good way, and works equally for a family of eight after tubing and for two adults who want a beer while the kids are asleep back at the townhome, which is a five-minute drive away. Kitchen hours run late by Pocono standards.
Weekend evenings in ski season get busy and there can be a wait; go before 6pm or after 8pm. Nick’s Lake House and the Boulder View Tavern are the other two lakeside options if you want variety over a long stay.
